The 18.0 megapixel 7D just sits under the 5DMKII, but the 1.6 crop (27.9 x 18.6 mm) CMOS sensor makes it an attractive option for those Filmmakers who are used to shooting with high-end cine cameras such as the Red One & Sony's F35.  The APS-C size sensor also makes this camera a little easier to focus than the 1DMKIV & 5DMKII.  Like its big brothers the 7D also records full HD video @ 1920x1080 pixels in Live View Mode.
