Picture Hire Australia is a rental house specializing in the hire of TV broadcast & professional production equipment, brands such as Sony [HDCAM, XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, Digital Betacam & HDV], Canon [Broadcast Lenses & DSLR Cameras], Panasonic Monitors, Tiffen, Arri, Kino-Flo, Zacuto, Redrock Micro, Transvideo, Rode & Sennheiser. We believe in a two way experience with our clients, & feel it's important to work together to create the best package.
Our staff are industry recognised professionals. Be it Standard Definition or High Definition cameras,
VTRs, lighting, audio or grip equipment, we're able to offer sound advice based on first hand experience.
If the camera equipment you require is not listed, please call our office as we have alliances Australia wide & it's likely we’ll source it from one of our partners.

Monday 18th July 2011 Our David Gregan has made the front pages of the Advertiser!!!
Check out the article "Arcade kids go full tilt in Big Shots film tour" on page three of today's paper. "Joystick Heroes" which was shot by Dave is being shown at the Festival Centre's Space Theatre this Thursday to Saturday.

Wednesday 13th July 2011 We are very excited to welcome to our team our new equipment room assistant - David Tang. David is currently doing honors in Screen Studies at Flinders University and is a passionate film maker. As we now have Dai, Dave and David - we are calling him DTang (as many already do)!!
Dave and DTang will be working together to strengthen our committment to provide our valued customers with strong technical service and support. They look forward to answering even your most challenging queries!

Friday 13th May 2011 was the 2011 South Australian Screen Awards.
Picture Hire Australia is a major sponsor of these awards and it was with great excitement that our very own David Gregan won an award for the Best Music Video "Frown". David shot the video using equipment from Picture Hire Australia.

May 3, 2011 The 40th Annual National Awards for Cinematography were held on Saturday night 30th April 2011 in Adelaide. Picture Hire Australia was proud to be a GOLD Sponsor of the evening. We also supplied cameras and crew for the event, which will be broadcast on the movie network at a date to be advised.
It was a wonderful night showcasing amazing cinematography. We were privledged to have John Seale ACS ASC as our Guest of Honour. John has earned more than 40 feature film cinematography credits on such films as Witness, Mosquito Coast, Rain Man, Dead Poets Society, The English Patient, The Perfect Storm, Harry Potter and the Pholosopher's Stone and recently The Tourist.
Many tributes were paid to the late John Bowring ACS, a most repected and loved cinematographer.
Congratulations to all the winners and in particular to Nima Nabili Rad who won the Golden Tripod for "A Moment of Grace" in the category of Fictional Drama Shorts. Equipment for his short film was supplied by Picture Hire Australia.

February 23, 2011 Delta Television and Picture Hire Australia have merged. Liz and John Francis are pleased to announce the sale of the business of Picture Hire Australia Pty. Ltd. to Dai Cookes of Delta Television. The combined businesses will operate as DS and DGE Cookes trading as Picture Hire Australia. Liz will remain as the Rental Manager of Picture Hire Australia, with Dai taking the role of General Manager. All existing staff have been retained. Delta Television will eventually cease to exist as a trading name when all financial transactions are complete.

February 15, 2011 The National awards for Cinematography are held annually in April/May, on a rotational basis between Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane & Melbourne. This year the 2011 ACS National Awards for Cinematography will be held here in Adelaide on April 30th.

Entries for the National Awards are automatically entered from the Gold winners from the individual State & Territory Awards, held in November the preceding year. Good luck to Maxx Corkindale & Nima Nabili Rad who both chose Picture Hire’s equipment for their projects. Direct entry is not available into the National Awards. Only current financial members of the Society are eligible to enter into the State & Territory awards.
